Announcing a New Series for
CS Graduates
Advanced
Biodynamic DIPLOMA
The Advanced Biodynamic Diploma
(ABP) is a new designation available under the auspices of the International
Affiliation of Biodynamic Trainings (IABT). ABP represents 300 hours of post-graduate
education. Each IABT school has its own procedures and requirements. Schools
generally offer credit reciprocity for ABD training from other IABT schools;
candidates can take pre-approved seminars elsewhere and get CSES credit toward
ABD status. For information on IABT, see www.biodynamic-craniosacral.org.
Requirements for an ABP
designation from CSES:
¥ 300 hours of additional training beyond the 700-hour
foundation training, for a total of 1,000 hours transcript credit.
¥ ABP hours may be acquired via three categories:
ÐPost-Graduate
Seminars
ÐAttendance
in study groups or supervision groups
ÐIndependent
projects such as a thesis or research
¥ ABP candidates are required to have an ABP advisor,
who will track their progress and consult on their plans. ABP advisors are CSES
faculty or designated others. Advisors can approve candidatesÕ proposals for
trainings from other providers, independent projects, etc. The advisor will use
a transcript worksheet to track credit toward the 300 total extra hours.
¥ Some credits will be given retroactively, for
example the Franklyn Sills summer 2006 seminar, Jaap van der WalÕs Embryology
class, Anna ChittyÕs study groups, etc.
These classes may be taken individually. They do not
have to be taken as a set. To create a personalized plan for acquiring ABD
status, contact CSES.
To register for any event, contact CSES by email, phone or fax. No application or deposit is required.
¥ Embryology ¥ Jaap van der Wal, MD, PhD
This four-day class describes events of the first three weeks of life. The previous versions of this class were three days. For 2008, the presentation is expanded to 4 days to add exploration of Dynamic Morphology particularly in the context of the Heart and the Central Nervous System.
¥ Working with Viscera ¥ Franklyn Sills
This five-day class is an opportunity to experience the original designer of the foundation course. Franklyn Sills presents an event at CSES once every two years. This class will show biodynamic considerations for working with the viscera, using the topic as a lens for exploring Sills' general theory and recent new developments. This seminar is open only to graduates of foundation trainings approved by CSTA/NA or IABT.
